So, a few years ago when your business was growing and you needed a new business information system, you researched it and decided a custom software solution was the way to go.

You can even provide a portal for overseas partners and suppliers. 

Another thing to consider is how well the system is performing in support of your business. Every business changes over a few years, it has to or it stagnates and ultimately fails. Now with an off the shelf system your options are limited, as there is only so much you can do before you have to change it for something else.
